Our Approach

Define Requirements

of project failures are due to poor requirements management.

An organization's requirements for a solution are paramount for success. During requirement sessions we listen intently to our customer's pain-points, as well as the functionality desired of the new system. After all, listening is the key to successful requirements definition. During these sessions, our MS Project Now consultant will identify areas of potential improvement and efficiencies, and avoid situations that simply replicate a dysfunctional process.

We then review the documented requirements in detail, and come up with a design for the new solution. Visibility of projects, dashboards for upper management, and workflows to standardize project intake are just a few examples of the design elements of any new solution. The results of the organization's maturity assessment are used to develop a training plan to aid users from all roles in seamlessly acclimating to the new processes and technology.

Installation, Configuration & Development

A flexible solution allows a client to first crawl, then walk, then run, as their maturity increases and they become acclimated with the technology and process.

Upon gaining signed approval on the documented requirements and solution design, we move forward and installed the necessary software and provision a Project Web App instance. The installation is followed by system validation to ensure the Project Web App instance functions as designed.

Configuration is then performed, which is the point in time when we apply the approved solutions design to the Project Web App instance. Custom fields and Project Center views, as well as security and project intake elements, are just a few of the many areas of the system requiring configuration.

Finally, if any development is required, we perform this as well. Whether it's reports and dashboards, to a few custom Apps, to a full-blown system integration, our development team works tirelessly to complete every aspect of the solution that requires development.

Organizations are putting at risk 12 cents for every $1 spent on projects.

Validation is the key to ensuring that the system upon deployment to end-users functions as designed. Validation involves a few key resources of the customer, via a detailed validation script, will methodically test many facets of the completed solution.

For instance, project managers will confirm they can create and save projects, while PMO officers will verity the portfolio analysis capabilities provide the functionality requested during requirements definition. Executives and information consumers however will be focused on validating that any dashboards and reports produce the accurate and timely information from which to make sound business decisions. The end result producing a solution that is ready to be deployed to the user community.

of employees who recieve poor job training leave their positions within the first year.

Lastly, the most important aspect of the project to ensure user adoption is performed- Training. Inadequate training is one of the leading cause of project failure and employee turnover. This is why at MS Project Now we take training very seriously. During requirements sessions we listened to users from different roles communicate their pain-points, as well as their wish list. We also came to understand the organizations level of project management maturity. These data points, as well as many others, are used to create a custom-tailored training program that focuses on the content users need to succeed.

At MS Project Now our training is exceptional because it is a blend of lecture and hands-on exercises, delivered by instructors who are out in the field every day managing projects. Exercises help solidify the instructed material. While real-world experience provides a level of knowledge not often found in a training manual. This real-world experience is brought into every classroom, whether virtual or in-person, allowing each and every student to benefit tremendously.
